
    
 
As part of the welcome program for newly arrived international researchers and their families in Lorraine, the Euraxess Centers of Metz and Nancy at Université de Lorraine are pleased to invite you to a themed guided tour of Metz on: 
Thursday, November 27th 2025 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 
This initiative is specifically dedicated to international researchers who arrived in Lorraine from December 2024 onwards at University of Lorraine, CNRS, CHRU of Nancy, Georgia Tech Europe, INRIA, INRAE, INSERM, AgroParisTech, as well as their families. 
We invite you to join this bilingual tour (FR/EN) led by tour guides from the Metz Tourist Office, which will highlight Metz's rich architectural and cultural heritage, with a focus on the Advent season*. This will also be an opportunity to discover local folklore and traditions, as well as the history of Metz in relation to Advent**, while promoting exchanges and building ties within the academic community. 
* Advent refers to the period leading up to Christmas in Christian culture.
** The theme of this guided tour will be explored from a historical and cultural perspective, and in no way from a religious perspective.
 
 Join us for this cultural experience followed by a convivial moment at the Metz Christmas market at the end of the tour, marking your stay in Lorraine.
     
    
    
        This activity is entirely free of charge. 
However, registration is mandatory, as the English-speaking group will be limited to 20 people. Children aged 6 and over must also be registered.
A bus will depart from Nancy and make a round trip from Nancy to Metz free of charge.

			4:30 p.m. Meeting at the Saint Léon Station bus stop in Nancy 
			4:45 p.m.  Departure  from Nancy by bus (bus stop of the Lorraine TGV shuttle, in front of Saint-Léon church) 
			6:15 p.m. Meeting point at Metz Tourist Office located at 2 place d'Armes à Metz 
			6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.: Guided walking tour (remember to bring good shoes, a hat, gloves, an umbrella, and warm clothing) 
			8:30 p.m. Return to Nancy by bus for those returning to Nancy only
